Small World 2 hits today on PC, Android with cross-platform play

Small World 2, Days of Wonder's follow-up to the digital version of its Philippe Keyaerts-designed board game, is being released today on Windows PC and Android, the company announced today.

The strategy game was released on iOS this past September. Days of Wonder raised nearly $400,000 on Kickstarter earlier this year to fund Small World 2 development on Android and PC, and today the company confirmed that it will support cross-platform play across all three versions of the game.

"Just like we feel it's important to offer gamers a chance to play great games in both physical and digital forms, we feel strongly that Small World should be playable on PCs and mobile devices, not just one or the other," said Eric Hautemont, CEO of Days of Wonder, in a press release today.

This can take place through Days of Wonder Online, the company's own network, or Steam. Players have the ability to start a game on one platform and continue playing on another. Supported Android devices include Kindle tablets. Interested parties can check out Small World 2 on Steam or Google Play.
