MapleStory 2 cinematic trailer shows an adorable climactic duel

A cinematic trailer for the sequel to Korean studio Wizet’s hit 2D online game MapleStory shows two adorably super-deformed characters throwing down in a forest.

The first of the two fighters appears to be some kind of warrior; his opponent looks to be some hybrid between a rogue and a magic user. Despite their small stature, the two seem more than capable of tearing up the forest around them during their duel.

MapleStory 2 will be 3D, unlike its two-dimensional predecessor. The game’s beta test is scheduled to begin sometime in 2014.
