A new trailer for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze shows off Donkey Kong’s elderly relative Cranky Kong in his first run as a playable character.
Cranky Kong suits up in new DKC: Tropical Freeze trailer
While not as young or spry as fellow second-player characters Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong, Cranky is able to bounce on his cane to safely cross spikes.
Beyond introducing Cranky as playable, the trailer shows off a myriad of levels ranging from the frigid to a new take on the classic Donkey Kong Country mine cart levels.
Cranky Kong’s playable status was revealed earlier this month by Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Amie. The original Donkey Kong Country series considered Cranky Kong to be the elderly form of the very first Donkey Kong from the arcade games.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze hits Wii U on Feb. 21, 2014.
