"Substantial further volumes" of the PlayStation 4 will arrived in the U.K. before Christmas, according to Sony Computer Entertainment's U.K. managing director Fergal Gara in a statement sent to MCV.
The console launched in Europe on Nov. 29 and sold shy of 250,000 consoles in its first two days in the U.K. Some buyers who pre-ordered the console are still waiting for their orders to be fulfilled due to high demand for the machines. Gara said pre-orders for the PS4 "surpassed all expectations," and the company is working to fulfill the remaining pre-orders while preparing additional stock to be made available before Christmas.
Sony Computer Entertainment Australia's MD issued a similar statement, promising more PS4s for the Australian market before Christmas to meet demand.
We have reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment of America to find out if additional stock will be provided in the U.S. ahead of the holidays.
