Yukinori Kitajima, scenario writer for Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies and Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, is working on upcoming mobile role-playing game Guns n' Souls featuring Song Summoner, Square Enix announced today.
Ace Attorney scenario writer working on mobile RPG Guns n’ Souls

Guns n’ Souls will be action-oriented and free-to-play, though the game will feature microtransactions to allow players to collect items and progress more quickly. The game appears to be linked to 2008 iOS role-playing game Song Summoner, a music-themed tactical RPG developed and published by Square Enix. Guns n’ Souls features Song Summoner’s protagonist, Ziggy.
Kitajima has previously worked with Square Enix on the Chaos Rings mobile RPG series, as well as on Tamsoft and Marvelous AQL’s action franchise Senran Kagura. Joining him on Guns n’ Souls is character designer Roberto Ferrari, who has also worked on the original Song Summoner and Final Fantasy 14.
Guns n’ Souls will launch in Japan “soon” for iOS and in 2014 for Android. There is currently no information on a western release.
