NBA 2K14 next-gen patch adds gameplay improvements, fixes

NBA 2K14 received its third patch for next-generation consoles today, introducing gameplay improvements, bug fixes, and technical updates to MyCAREER and MyGM, 2K revealed on its official blog today.

The Xbox One received the NBA 2K14 Patch 3 today, while the update is expected to roll-out to the PlayStation 4 within the next couple of days. General fixes include resolution of issues with game invites sent through Xbox Live, disconnects during head-to-head and Team-Up gameplay, settings that weren't properly saving in specific situations and more.

The hefty list of gameplay updates include adjusted physics calculations on in-air collisions to make defenders "stronger" and improvements to the dribbling model, along with the addition of a "new and improved" ‘Beluba' camera view. The NBA 2K14 Patch 3 notes can be read in full on 2K's official blog. The next patch is expected to feature jersey and court updates, along with game day accessories.

NBA 2K14 launched Nov. 19 on the Xbox One, a few days ahead of the console's launch, and Nov. 15 on the PlayStation 4. Samit Sarkar writes that while the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of NBA 2K14 didn't feel like an upgrade for the series, the game is the "best-looking next-gen launch title — you may actually mistake it for a televised basketball game."
