Max: The Curse of Brotherhood launch trailer puts the magic in markers

A launch trailer for Microsoft's puzzle platformer Max: The Curse of Brotherhood demonstrates the power of art.

Annoyed by his younger brother, Max wishes in a moment of anger for his sibling to be snatched away, only to regret the sentiment once it actually happens. Setting off to rescue his brother, Max must contend with monsters and hazards using the power of a magical marker controlled by the player.

The trailer demonstrates some of the marker's powers: Drawing from green sources creates branches and vines for Max to walk across or swing from, drawing from purple sources launches an explosive energy blast and drawing from blue sources creates a column of wind.

Max: The Curse of Brotherhood hits Xbox One today, with an Xbox 360 launch date pending.
