Tribute Games plans to release Mercenary Kings in early 2014, according to a post on the developer's official blog.
Mercenary Kings dev aiming for ‘early 2014’ release

The developer hoped to have the platformer released for the holiday but said needs more time to deliver the game, whose PlayStation 4 version will be compatible with remote play.
“As you’ve guessed it, Mercenary Kings will not be available for the 2013 calendar year,” the post reads. “We’re extremely grateful and excited about people asking for the game on PS4 or the completed version on Steam. It was our hope to have it completed and in your hands for the holidays but the game is not in the shape it needs to be for [its] official, full release.”
As it stands, the game is “content-completed,” but Tribute is finishing the sound effects and localization.
“Again, we’d like to thank you for your patience. We do not take lightly the privilege of having people be excited about the game and asking us about it everyday on social media! We’re working really hard to get it in the best possible shape and in your hands early 2014.”
