Mac owners can now play 12 classic gaming systems on their computer with OpenEmu, a video game emulator available for free.

OpenEmu is compatible with OSX 10.7 or higher and features support for consoles such as NES, SNES, Game Boy, Nintendo DS and NeoGeo Pocket. Those interested can also download a ROM starter pack with A Werewolf Tale, Alter Ego, Assimilate and the Battle Kid demo.
The program supports generic HID compliant USB or Bluetooth controllers. According to the site, OpenEmu will automatically map controls for the Dualshock 3, Dualshock 4, Xbox 360, Wii remote and more.
Future updates will add support for consoles such as the Nintendo 64, PlayStation and Sega Saturn. You can download the emulator through its website.
