SXSW 2014 will run from March 7-16, 2014, and feature the three-day SXSW Gaming Expo under the SXSW Interactive banner from March 7-9. For the first time, the Gaming Expo will include an awards show, the SXSW Gaming Awards, which will recognize outstanding 2013 games in 15 different categories.
One of those categories is the Gamer’s Voice Award, which will go to an indie game; the winner will be determined in part based on voting by SXSW Gaming Expo attendees. Developer must submit their games for consideration by 12:59 a.m. ET on Dec. 14. In order to qualify as “indie,” a developer must not have raised more than $5 million in funds.
