Universal Pictures reveals official Warcraft movie cast

The official cast of the feature film based on Blizzard Entertainment's Warcraft franchise includes Ben Foster (The Messenger, 3:10 To Yuma, X-Men: The Last Stand), Travis Fimmel (Vikings), Paula Patton (2 Guns, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) and Rob Kazinsky (True Blood, Pacific Rim, Red Tails), Universal and Legendary Pictures announced today.

Universal Pictures is also in final stages of negotiation with Dominic Cooper (Captain America, Dead Man Down, Mamma Mia!) to star in the Warcraft adaption, according to the announcement. The film will begin production in Vancouver in January 2014.

Last month, the production companies revealed that the film has been rescheduled for a March 11, 2016 premiere. It was originally slated to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015 with a possible cause of the delay being the Dec. 18, 2015 release of Star Wars: Episode VII.

Centering on Warcraft characters Lothar and Durotan, the movie's storyline will focus on telling both the human and orc sides of the story, director Duncan Jones revealed at BlizzCon 2013.
