Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn getting PvP and player housing Dec. 17

The next major update for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, Patch 2.1 "A Realm Awoken," will launch on Dec. 17, Square Enix announced today.

The update brings with it player housing and a handful of new features, as well as introduces player-versus-player arenas starting with the Wolves' Den. The patch also adds a new event, the Crystal Tower 24-player dungeon.

Player housing will be restricted to three specific residential areas in each of Eorzea's city-states. Houses can be setup after purchasing a plot of land.

More details on features coming with the "A Realm Awoken" update can be found in the preview video above. Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn launched in August for PlayStation 3 and Windows PC, with a PlayStation 4 version slated to launch in beta in February and in full in April 2014.
