Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers trailer combines cyberpunk and demons

New, 3 comments

Upcoming sci-fi role-playing title Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers takes players on a cyberpunk adventure through the futuristic city of Amami City, as illustrated in the game's story trailer.

A posse of hackers must dungeon-crawl their way to confront an ancient nefarious mystic society that is unleashing demons upon the city. The player can choose to fight or negotiate with the enemy demons encountered along the way. Successful negation turns demons into allies and teammates.

Soul Hackers for the Nintendo 3DS includes a gun-morphing PC, a new theme song, a new opening movie, faster loading times and 30 new demons. Also, an additional dungeon will unlock after the first play through, which features a guest appearance from the series protagonist, Raidou Kuzunoha.

Controls have been tweaked for a better user interface on the 3DS and the console's bottom screen serves as a auto-mapping navigation feature.

Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers will release on Nintendo 3DS April 16, 2013 in the U.S.
