Gaming accessories manufacturer Mad Catz recently revealed the F.R.E.Q.7 surround sound gaming headset for Windows PC and smartphones.

F.R.E.Q.7 features include 50mm speakers, a detachable noise-canceling microphone and a button to toggle Dolby Headphone 7.1-channel surround sound. When in Dolby Headphone mode, the Dolby Pro Logic IIx processing feature mixes stereo content to the surround sound.

The packaged 3.3ft, 3.5mm audio cable enables smartphone use when swapped out with the 6.6ft, USB cord and the microphone has voice call functionality. The headset is adaptable with iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia, Windows Phone 8, and HTC handsets.

When not in use, the cans fold flat to rest flush around the neck and it comes packaged with headset stand for non-body resting.

The headset will set consumers back $199.99 and is currently available for pre-order.
