Plants vs Zombies free on iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad

Plants vs Zombies, the tower defense action game, is free to download from the iTune App Store for iPhone and iPad. The deal is listed for an unspecified time period.

The game is available for $3.19 on Google Play.

Plants vs Zombies 2 will arrive late Spring 2013, Polygon reported. The sequel is said to feature new zombie-defense tactics and new settings.

First released for Windows PC in 2009, Plants Vs Zombies has seen releases across all major platforms, such as iOS, Android, Xbox Live Arcade, PS3, Nintendo DS, Windows PC, BlackBerry 10 and Facebook.
