Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the 3DS in Japan will feature online capabilities enabled via the Wii U, Nintendo revealed during its Nintendo Direct today.
Online play for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for 3DS was canned by Nintendo last September.
Capcom and Nintendo are currently under fire by disappointed fans because of the decision to region lock multiplayer servers Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for the Wii U. Polygon contacted Nintendo regarding its decision to have region locked servers and will update as more information becomes available.
Polygon also reached out to Nintendo to confirm if online play for the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be enabled in other regions.
The title will be available on Wii U and 3DS on March 19, 2013.
