The next round of downloadable content for Fire Emblem: Awakening on Nintendo 3DS adds a new powerful class as well as two additional playable characters, Nintendo has announced.
The video above begins with a quick recap of the add-on packs released earlier this month for Awakening — the Champions of Yore packs, Golden Pack and Lost Bloodlines Pack — before diving into an explanation of this new DLC. In the new Smash Pack, protagonist Chrom and his army are caught in the bitter struggle between classic franchise heroes Roy and Ike. Players must ally with Roy against Ike before turning to join with Ike against Roy, then face both legendary heroes at once in a two-on-one battle.
Completing the Smash pack's mission will grant players access to legendary character Eirika, first introduced in 2004's Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, as well as the new Bride class. Bride, one of Awakening's most powerful classes, is accessible to any female character level 10 and above. Brides can equip lances, bows and staffs, and have special skills that boost stats and movement and restore health to nearby allies.
More downloadable content is on the way for Awakening, including the Rogue Pack, which features a storyline pitting Chrom and his team against an army of darkness.
Fire Emblem: Awakening was released on Feb. 4 in North America and will launch in Europe on Feb. 19.
