QuakeCon 2013 runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 4 in Dallas

This year's QuakeCon, the annual video game festival, will take place Aug. 1-4 and return to the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, publisher Bethesda Softworks announced today.

Billed as "North America's largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party," QuakeCon 2013 — the 18th annual QuakeCon — will offer attendees the chance to go hands-on with upcoming Bethesda Softworks titles. The company isn't announcing specific games or developers for the show at this time, but last year's QuakeCon featured demos of Arkane Studios' Dishonored and id Software's Doom 3: BFG Edition. The usual slate of panels, contests and other activities will also be available to fans.

Admission to QuakeCon is free and open to the public. The Hilton Anatole is now accepting reservations, offering a special $159 per night rate if you mention QuakeCon 2013.
