Sniper Elite V2, Rebellion Developments' World War II-era shooter, will launch on Wii U this spring with new functionality provided by the GamePad, publisher 505 Games announced today.
According to 505 Games, the Wii U version of Sniper Elite V2 will offer "greater tactical depth and flexibility" through the use of the GamePad as a second screen. The tablet's touchscreen will let players tag and track enemies, mark booby traps and visualize the blast radius of an explosive device.
As seen in the screenshots above, the GamePad also holds a mini-map and provides quick access to weapons and tools.
"Sniper Elite is just the kind of mature game that is perfect for the different mechanics of the Wii U," said Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion, in a press release announcing the Wii U version.
Rebellion originally launched Sniper Elite V2 last spring on Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3; it is a remake of the studio's 2005 shooter Sniper Elite.
