J.J. Abrams, the recently crowned Star Wars director, and Valve president and co-founder Gabe Newell take the stage to talk about storytelling across platforms in the kick-off keynote for the 2013 DICE summit.
While Abrams is best known for his work in television and movies, he has also tried his hand at game development through Bad Robot Interactive, which co-created a Super 8 app and created the Action Movie FX app.
Newell, who is being inducted into the Hall of Fame at this year's summit, will also give a presentation on his own later in the week entitled "A View on Next Steps," which will focus on where the industry is heading, the advances Valve is making with Steam and Big Picture to prepare for the future and more.
The event, which was to be livestreamed, will now be recorded and the video uploaded sometime after the talk. Fortunately, we're on hand to live blog the conversation for you. You can read along right here.
