Galactic Reign, a turn-based space strategy title from Slant Six Games, is now available on Windows 8, Windows Phone and Windows RT, publisher Microsoft Studios announced today.

The game costs $4.99 on each platform in the Windows Store and the Windows Phone Store.

Galactic Reign can be played solo, but it focuses on the head-to-head experience. You and your opponent compete for control of the galaxy by designing spaceships, building up your fleets, colonizing planets and waging galactic war. The game also offers Xbox Achievements.

Battles don't take place in real-time, or even on your device — instead, they're rendered in the cloud, and videos of them are downloaded to your phone for you to watch the action play out. Players can also share the videos directly to Facebook from within the game.

Check out the video above for a walkthrough of Galactic Reign.
