Call of Juarez: Gunslinger gameplay trailer and screenshots lay down the law

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger takes the series back to the Wild West, and as seen in screenshots and a debut gameplay trailer released today by publisher Ubisoft, it's going to take a lot of revolvers, rifles and explosions to tame the outlaws of the era.

In the upcoming downloadable shooter from series developer Techland, players will step into the boots of Silas Greaves, a bounty hunter who clashes with legendary Wild West outlaws such as Billy the Kid and Jesse James. Gunslinger's story fictionalizes the lives of those mythic figures, and touches on traditional themes like justice, vengeance and freedom. The trailer shows off the hastily built towns and natural beauty of the Old West, and interrupts the rustic scenes with plenty of gunfire.

"Where justice fails, vengeance follows," the trailer says.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, which was announced last September, is set for release later this year on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and Windows PC.
