Duke Nukem 2 coming to iOS this April

Side-scrolling action title Duke Nukem 2 is coming to iOS in April courtesy of Rise of the Triad reboot developer Interceptor Entertainment and 3D Realms, the companies announced today.

Available for $1.99, Duke Nukem 2 will be playable on both iPhone and iPad. The game includes the original version's 32 levels with full touchscreen support, interactive environments, upgraded artwork and a new soundtrack. Players can also track each others' scores with online leaderboards.

Originally released in 1993 for Microsoft DOS, Duke Nukem 2 was developed and published by Apogee Software, 3D Realms' previous label. The game, set in a futuristic 1998, begins as protagonist Duke is kidnapped by aliens looking to use his brain to control humanity. Duke breaks free and, like in his previous title, must again save the world from destruction. The title was ported to Game Boy Color in 1999.
