Machinarium hits PS Vita on March 26 for $6.99

Machinarium, the charming point-and-click adventure game from Amanita Design, will be released on PlayStation Vita on March 26 for $6.99, the studio announced today.

Amanita Design announced a PS Vita version last fall, just before the release of the PlayStation 3 version through PlayStation Network. The company originally launched Machinarium on Windows PC, Mac and Linux in October 2009, and later released it on iPad, Android and BlackBerry PlayBook.

"When the PS3 version was released, we called it the best version of the game," said Amanita founder Jakub Dvorksy on the PlayStation Blog. "The Vita version makes no compromises."

Machinarium on PS Vita includes the enhancements that Amanita made for the PS3 version, including the addition of PSN Trophies and the ability to zoom in. For the PS Vita version, the studio added touch controls and improved the zoom functionality, and new PSN leaderboards let players measure their completion time against others.
