Resident Evil: Revelations includes playable Rachel, new enemies, Wii U-specific features

Capcom's upcoming high-definition port of Resident Evil: Revelations will allow players to take the role of Rachel in Raid Mode, fight two new monsters and use Wii U-specific features, the company announced today.

Rachel, who debuted in the original Nintendo 3DS version of Revelations, joins the previously announced Hunk among the roster of characters in the co-op Raid Mode. Both Hunk and Rachel will be playable at PAX East this weekend. The console and PC versions of Revelations will also throw two new enemies at players, the gruesome Wall Blister and an unnamed second creature in Raid Mode.

The Wii U version of Revelations is being built with features specific to Nintendo's new console. Players will be able to access a mini-map and weapons on the GamePad screen or take the game off the TV onto the device entirely. Revelations on Wii U also supports the Wii U Pro Controller, as well as Miiverse. Using the Wii U's built-in social network, players can post messages where they died in the game and give speech bubbles to enemies.

Resident Evil: Revelations, which launched on 3DS in February 2012, will be available May 21 on Windows PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U for $49.99. Check out new screenshots of the aforementioned features below.
