A Warhammer 40,000 mobile game is in development at Roadhouse Interactive, the studio and Warhammer licensor Games Workshop announced today.

Roadhouse did not specify platforms, but said the game will be available on smartphones and tablets. It will take the form of a side-scroller in which the player controls a Space Marine and mows down enemies from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

"We are incredibly excited to bring a part of Warhammer 40,000 to life on mobile and tablet and it's great to work with Games Workshop," said Tarrnie Williams, Roadhouse Interactive president and co-founder, in a press release announcing the partnership. "The legions of fans of Space Marines will now be able to fight the Ork menace while on the move!"

Vancouver, British Columbia-based Roadhouse is also working on MechWarrior Tactics, a browser-based entry in the BattleTech franchise.
