Developer Vlambeer, who recently released iOS hit Ridiculous Fishing, has confirmed it will bring its dogfighting game Luftrausers to PlayStation 3 and PS Vita this spring courtesy of publisher Devolver Digital.
In an announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Vlambeer's Rami Ismail said that in addition to the Windows PC, Linux and Mac versions of Luftrausers, the game will come to Sony's current platforms for a particular reason.
"We'll be honest with you — the reason this game is going to hit PS3 and PS Vita is because we loved working with Sony when we made Super Crate Box," Ismail wrote. "We think both platforms are great and we obviously want you to be able to play our games — but we don't like dealing with people that treat us as some sort of commercial asset only. We want to work with people that love games as much as we love working on them."
Ismail wrote that the two-man team at Vlambeer is "investing a lot of time into making a game about shooting airplanes that is fun, explosive and makes you feel like the best pilot in the world." Luftrausers is an update to the free Flash game Luftrauser, developed by Ismail, artist Paul Veer and musician Kozilek.
Luftrausers promises 125 different combinations of plane guns, bodies and engines and more than 100 missions. The game will cost $9.99 on its various release platforms.
