Hyperkin unveiled the RetroN 5, a console designed to play NES, SNES, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis and Famicom (the Japanese NES) cartridges, at the Midwest Gaming Classic trade show.
As reported earlier in March, Hyperkin initially intended to reveal the RetroN 4 at the trade show which only had four cartridge slots.
The RetroN 5 will have five cartridge slots for each system, SD card slot game data saves, two controller ports for each console and will include two Bluetooth controllers.
The controllers consist of two bumpers, two macro keys and six buttons. While remapping the Bluetooth controller via the "Perdana" Digital User Interface is a confirmed feature, Hyperkin hopes to introduce remapping for original controllers.
The console will have HDMI out at 720p capability, AV ports and supports NTSC and PAL cartridges.
Hyperkin hopes to release the console for under $100. The Hong Kong-based company doesn't have a release date, stating in the video below "probably sometime after June."
Hyperkin's RetroN 3 console — compatible with NES, SNES, Super Famicom, Sega Genesis and Mega Drive cartridges — is available from Amazon for $51.78.
