Dragon's Crown coming to PlayStation 3 and Vita this summer

2D hack-and-slash side-scroller Dragon's Crown is making its way to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita later this summer for $49.99 and $39.99 respectively, Atlus Entertainment announced today.

Gamers have the choice to play as one of six different characters: The Fighter, fast attacks and heavily armored; The Dwarf, good at close combat and grappling; The Amazon, swift and wields an axe; The Wizard, primary and secondary fire attacks; The Elf, agile and wields a bow; The Sorceress, ice magic abilities and can summon skeletons.

Both versions of the game feature four-player drop-in cooperative play but it doesn't feature cross-platform functionality.

Polygon reported last week that Dragon's Crown will be launching in Japan, July 25. The game was first shown off at E3 2011 and was originally scheduled for Spring of last year.

"Dragon's Crown is one of the most perfect games I've ever played," said Naoto Hiraoka, president and chief executive officer, Index Digital Media, Inc. "The amazing game design and artwork are among the best in any console generation, and the cooperative gameplay is highly addictive."
