Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons dev diary features the bond between siblings

Starbreeze and 505 Games have released a new trailer for downloadable fantasy adventure Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.

The game eschews more traditional controls as the player moves both brothers at any given time, says game director Josef Fares. The older brother is moved with the left thumbstick, the younger brother the right, and both brothers have a single action button apiece. This was part of the main purpose of the game, says Fares, which was getting the player to feel a connection with the two brothers.

"We really want the player to feel that the left hand is big brother and the right hand is little brother," says Fares.

Brothers follows two brothers who are seeking a cure for their father's disease, having lost their mother when she drowned years before. As seen in this trailer, the game focuses on puzzles and exploration rather than combat.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is slated for release on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC later this year.
