BioWare is holding the largest online multiplayer event in Mass Effect 3's history to send off the game, according to its official blog. Dubbed Operation: Lodestar, the multiplayer event will run from March 5 to March 10.
The mission brief posted on the blog states:
N7 unit actions will pave the way for resistance and conventional forces trying to retake the population centers of our homeworlds. There is no retreat. When an objective is finished or a target destroyed, you will immediately focus on the next. Our assets will provide cover to network ships that will update your targets in real-time. Rally points are at your disposal in the event that all space assets meet with catastrophic casualties. From there, you will fight as your CO sees fit or until further orders arrive.
Players are awarded tiered bonus packs based on their level of participation. Extracting on any difficulty earns the first-tier reward, which is a Commendation Pack. Holding out against all four enemy factions on Silver difficulty or higher earns the second-tier award comprising of a second bonus Commendation Pack with a "Stood Fast, Stood Strong, Stood Together" banner.
Players successfully going against all four enemy factions on Platinum difficulty are awarded the third-tier reward, which is a third bonus Commendation Pack.
Mass Effect 3's last DLC Citadel was released March 5 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. The single player DLC gives players the opportunity to reconnect Shepherd with old crew mates.
