Matter, an Xbox 360 Kinect game announced at E3 2012 from film director Gore Verbinski, has been canceled by Microsoft, Joystiq reports.
Speaking with the publication, Microsoft said that it is "no longer pursuing this title" and has "no further details to share at this time."
Few details about Matter were released following its announcement last year, though the game was expected to launch for Xbox Live Arcade this year. The game was being developed as the first project by Blind Wink Games, Verbinski's company formed in partnership with Microsoft.
Matter isn't Verbinski's first failed foray into the gaming world. He was previously attached to work on the BioShock film, but stepped down after funding for his high-budget, R-rated rendition fell through.
