A demo for Dead or Alive 5 Plus will be released "close to" the game's March 19 launch, developer Team Ninja announced today.

The extensive demo will let users try out Cross-Play battles between the PlayStation Vita title and its PlayStation 3 counterpart, Dead or Alive 5, and transfer progress from the demo to the full game. Eight stages will be available for standard battles and the single-player Touch Fight mode.

Team Ninja also revealed some of the feature set for Dead or Alive 5 Plus. Players can dig deeper into the mechanics and story of the game by analyzing combat with move details and by watching cutscenes in the Movie Theater. For the first time in the series, the game will let players choose each character's background music. And the first-person Touch Fight mode gives players an opportunity to get up close and personal with opponents.

Dead or Alive 5 Plus launches March 19 on PlayStation Vita. Check out a new trailer above.
