League of Legends, Riot Games' multiplayer online battle arena, will receive a redesigned version of Karma "pretty soon," lead content designer Ryan "Morello" Scott revealed in the game's official forums.
Karma's first major change is aesthetic, and the new version (seen above) will have a revamped outfit, posture and floating fans. The intention is to show off "her status as a paragon of Ionia while appearing unique on the battlefield," according to senior character artist Josh "Grumpy Monkey" Singh. All players who own Karma before her relaunch will get her traditional skin for free.
Associate creative designer Devon "RiotRunaan" Giehl wrote that the redesign will strengthen the connection between Karma's backstory and her battlefield tactics. A new move that allows her to "manifest her inner spirit and willpower as a powerful magical energy" is a symbol of her perseverance despite the struggles that her native Ionia endured.
The developers haven't revealed a date for when this transformation will take to the MOBA, but there will be a developer diary chronicling the process before then.
