'No current plans' to bring SimCity to consoles, says EA

SimCity publisher Electronic Arts has "no current plans" to bring the game to consoles, according to the SimCity Twitter account.

"Sadly there are no current plans to move SimCity to console," reads a tweet from @SimCity sent earlier today, in response to a person asking if the game might ever be released on PlayStation 4. The most recent entry in the franchise for consoles was the 2008 Wii title SimCity Creator.

SimCity launched this week on Windows PC, and will be available this spring on Mac OS X; cross-platform play will be supported. The PC release has been plagued by server issues all week, leaving users unable to play.
