Gemini Rue, the cyberpunk noir-ish graphic adventure game from Joshua Nuernberger, is now available on iOS, publisher Wadjet Eye Games announced today.
For its first two weeks of release, it will sell for $3.99, 20 percent cheaper than its regular price of $4.99.
Gemini Rue originally launched in February 2011 on Windows PC to critical acclaim. Programmer Janet Gilbert, one half of the two-person team that makes up Wadjet Eye, spent the past eight months porting the PC game to iOS. This version is optimized for touchscreen play, according to the company, with larger clicking hotspots to reduce pixel hunting and a redesigned setup for the game's combat sequences.
The iOS version of Gemini Rue is a universal app that is optimized for iOS 5, and requires at least an iPhone 3GS, third-generation iPod touch or iPad. Wadjet Eye founder Dave Gilbert told Polygon in an interview at PAX East that the studio hopes to bring more of its back catalog of indie adventure games to iOS in the future.
