Mario and Luigi: Dream Team will be available on Nintendo 3DS at retail and via the 3DS eShop on August 11 in North America, Nintendo's Satoru Iwata announced today in a Nintendo Direct presentation.
The game will be available on July 12 in Europe and July 18 in Japan.
In the game, Mario and his friends are visiting an island for some relaxation and sight-seeing. Princess Peach is kidnapped and pulled into a dream world, and the only way to access it is when Luigi sleeps on special pillows with magical powers.
Mario must travel back and forth between Luigi's dreams and the real world in order to rescue Peach. Players will interact with sleeping Luigi on the 3DS touchscreen in order to solve puzzles, as well as use groups of Luigi clones to navigate landscapes and destroy enemies. In the real world, Mario and Luigi must team up to take down baddies using familiar powers from previous Mario titles.
