Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move will hit the Nintendo 3DS eShop on May 9, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced in a Nintendo Direct event this morning.
The puzzle-focused game, which stars miniature versions of Nintendo characters, will include four modes and over 180 stages.
"In this game, your objective is to place different types of tiles on the flat map shown on the bottom screen to guide the mini characters to the goal," Iwata said. "The upper screen displays the various paths and obstacles in 3D as the minis make their way through the level."
Some levels include a limited number of tiles, while others focus on guiding two characters simultaneously through large maps, he said. Players will also be able to create and share their own puzzles in the downloadable title and play four different types of mini-games in a mode "separate from the main action/puzzle game."
