Wii U owners can pick up Pikmin 3 at retail or as a download from the Nintendo eShop starting Aug. 4, Nintendo of America announced today. Previously, the game was due sometime in 2013.

In addition to a final release date, Nintendo announced a new flying Winged Pikmin will be coming to the game. The new pink unit will follow players and can carry items in the air. “They will be helpful in different ways than the other Pikmin types,” Nintendo president Satoru Iwata explained in the latest episode of Nintendo Direct.
Nintendo previously announced a new breed of Pikmin, the Rock Pikmin, would be added to Pikmin 3.
