Microsoft's Xbox SmartGlass app, which allows users to interact with their Xbox 360 consoles via smartphones and tablets, is now available for Amazon's Kindle Fire devices, according to the app's listing in the Amazon Appstore for Android.

The app is compatible with the Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD. According to a tweet from Xbox spokesman Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, it requires Android 4.0 and above. That excludes the first generation Kindle Fire from compatibility, as it runs Android 2.3.

SmartGlass was released last year for Android, iOS and Windows Phone devices. Earlier this month, the Android app was updated to work on 7-inch and larger tablets.
