Atomhawk Design and Lantern Interactive are currently raising funds on Kickstarter for The Realm, a point-and-click adventure game for fans of Monkey Island, Machinarium and Ico, according to design director Andrew Curtis
The Realm takes place in a distant future where nature has overtaken cities. The game follows Sarina, a young girl in search of a healing flower who befriends a stone golem named Toru. Players will be able to control both heroes to complete puzzles.
"I've since been designing an experience that will appeal to fans of point-and-click games like Monkey Island or Machinarium, but also one that evokes a sense of epic scale and the emotional journey from Ico," Curtis said in the Kickstarter video, which you can watch above.
The game's funding goal is £195,000. At the time of this posting, it's raised £6,473 with the help of 318 backers. Those who wish to pledge can back anywhere from £1 to £5,000 for backer rewards.
The Realm's funding campaign ends on May 22. If funded, the game will launch for Windows PC, Mac and tablets.
