Pokémon trainers need love too, as evidenced by a high school student's prom proposal uploaded to YouTube.
Amid chants, cheers and Pokémon's classic "I wanna be the very best" theme song, the student pops the question: prom? The proposal is complete with a special poem ("Charmeleon is red, Squirtle is blue, prom is coming up, and I choose you") and Pokéball offering.
