Interdimensional Games Inc's Kickstarter project, Consortium, is nearing its fundraising goal of $50,000 with 10 days to go.
At the time of this posting, the campaign has raised more than $42,000 with 2,037 backers. Consortium takes place in a parallel universe during the year 2042. Players take on the role of Bishop Six, a member of a peacekeeping force trying to solve a murder mystery.
Choice is a vital part of the game; players have several options when interacting with other characters. According to the Kickstarter page, it's possible to play the entire game without ever using a weapon. Consortium does not include cutscenes and emphasizes "breaking the fourth wall" by using a first-person perspective. Players interact directly with characters in the game.
Backer tiers range from $10 to $10,000 and yield rewards such as an early bird copy of the game, special editions and beta access.
Consortium's Kickstarter campaign ends April 18. If funded, the game is expected to launch this summer. You can watch the video above for a look at the game.
