Sony launching four indie titles for PS3 and Vita with Cross-Buy this month

The yearly Spring Fever PlayStation Store sale will include special pricing on four indie titles for PlayStation 3 and Vita, Sony announced, and will kick off today with Drinkbox Studios' Guacamelee.

In a press statement, Sony said it's decision to highlight indie games for the month of April was due to a "strong showing of independent titles" at the 2013 Game Developers Conference. The sale will run through May 6.

All four games will be available for both PlayStation 3 and Vita and have Cross-Buy functionality, allowing players to purchase the game once for use on both platforms:

• April 9: Guacamelee from Drinkbox Studios for $14.99, $11.99 with PlayStation Plus
• April 16: Dragon Fantasy Book I from Muteki Corp for $9.99, $7.99 with PS Plus
• April 23: Thomas Was Alone from Mike Bithell for $9.99, $7.99 with PS Plus
• April 30: Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov's Revenge from Frima Studio for $9.99, free for PS Plus members as part of the Instant Game Collection

Sony also plans to hold weekly discounts with up to 65 percent off content from popular video game franchises throughout the month, including Grand Theft Auto and Resident Evil.
