First UK eSports bar opens in London next month

A new location of the Meltdown eSports bar chain will open in London on June 1, the company announced on its Facebook page.

The venue, setting up at 342 Caledonian Road, will treat patrons to gaming-themed drinks and livestreamed eSports events during open hours, from 5 p.m. until midnight on weekdays and until 1:30 a.m. on weekends. Bargoers will also have free access to PC's for free-play time and participation in weekly bar tournaments for titles like StarCraft 2, League of Legends and Street Fighter 4.

Meltdown London will host a grand opening party the night of June 1. Details on the party are forthcoming on the venue's Facebook.

This is the third bar in the Meltdown chain, which was founded by StarCraft 2 journalist and commentator Sophia "Foxy" Metz. Other locations opened for business in Paris in May 2012 and in Berlin last February.
