Contraption Maker, The Incredible Machine spiritual successor announced, alpha coming this summer

The Incredible Machine, Sierra Entertainment's puzzle building series from the mid-90s, is getting a spiritual successor in the form of Contraption Maker, developer Spotkin announced.

The original Incredible Machine team will work on the successor, which is being developed for Windows PC and Mac. Players will solve puzzles using trampolines, hamsters, motors, alligators and more. The game will also allow players to create their own devices with more than 100 parts.

Contraption Maker will include community integration that allows players to share puzzles, mods and backgrounds. According to the game's website, Spotkin will release more information on cooperative play, subassemblies and more at a later date.

An alpha for Contraption Maker is expected to launch this summer.
