Turtle Beach becomes Twitch's official audio partner

Samit Sarkar (he/him) is Polygon’s deputy managing editor. He has more than 15 years of experience covering video games, movies, television, and technology.

Audio equipment manufacturer Turtle Beach is teaming up with streaming platform Twitch to become the site's official audio partner, the companies announced today.

Under the collaboration, Twitch will use Turtle Beach products — including the company's Ear Force XP Seven and Z Seven gaming headsets, and TM1 tournament mixer — for broadcasts of eSports tournaments and other video game-related events. Turtle Beach's website will highlight Twitch streams from events like the MLG Pro Circuit, Call of Duty Championship and PAX Prime.

Twitch has previously partnered with a number of game publishers for streaming from directly within their games. Last fall, Sony Online Entertainment integrated Twitch into PlanetSide 2; earlier this year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players gained the ability to livestream matches to Twitch; and in March, Ubisoft added Twitch streaming capabilities to TrackMania 2: Canyon and ShootMania Storm.
