Go for a Pokemon ride in Poke-France in the newest Pokemon X & Y trailer

A new trailer out from Nintendo and Game Freak shows that a trainer's Pokémon companions aren't only good for battles these days.

Not that there aren't plenty of battles in this new trailer for Pokémon X & Y versions, of course. The video shows off how fights will look in the new 3DS engine, with a more dynamic camera and attacks that actually make contact with the opposing pocket monster.

The first part of the trailer, however, is all about the male and female protagonists exploring Lumiose City, whether on foot or on the back of their trusty Gogoat. Thus far, Nintendo has only announced that Gogoat will be rideable; whether any other Pokémon will be mounts remains to be seen.

Lumiose City is set in the new region of Kalos. Whereas the first four regions of the Pokémon world (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh) were located in a fictional version of Japan, and Pokémon Black & White's Unova was modeled after the United States, Kalos is the Pokémon world's equivalent of France.

Nintendo has released artwork and screenshots of the Kalos region, Lumiose City and four new Pokémon: Fletchling, Gogoat, Helioptile and Pancham. You can see it all in the gallery below.
