Electronic Arts is currently working on a mobile engine for iOS and Android of its Frostbite engine called Frostbite Go, according to the engine's official website.
According to the website, Frostbite Go is part of "a mobile division empowering EA game developers" that brings "true Frostbite experiences to all major mobile platforms." The team working on the project, according to a tweet from project manager Kristoffer Benjamin, goes by the same name internally.
Frostbite 2 is the engine used to create Need for Speed: The Run and various Battlefield titles. Frostbite 3 is currently in development as well; Battlefield 4 is the first title expected to ship with the engine.
We have reached out to Electronic Arts for comment and will update accordingly. DICE technical director Johan Andersson recently said that Frostbite is not being used to develop Wii U games because the results were "not too promising."
