Karateka Classic, an iOS and Android port of Jordan Mechner's first published game, is headed to mobile devices this Thursday, May 16.
The $0.99 game includes the pixelated throwback version of Karateka, which was originally released for Apple II computers in 1984. Mechner, who would later create Prince of Persia, developed the side-scrolling Karateka while he was a student at Yale.
Last year, Liquid Entertainment brought a Karateka remake to Steam, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and iOS. For more on the game and the remake, be sure to read Polygon's interview with its creator.
